So I did my circuit workouts until they exhausted me, which was about 3 weeks. Now I'm spending today developing a new one. It is time for me to switch it up. I have to keep my muscles guessing. I have been really good about sticking to my clean eating diet. I am very proud of myself! I have a little frozen yogurt last night (within the portion size too!) I haven't had any dessert in weeks! It was such a great reward.
My body fat has gone down a little, about 1-1.5 percent or so, and I did lose about 5 pounds. I gained a 1/4 inch in my biceps, so I am very proud of that. I went to the doctor and picked up some new inserts to see if that would help my ankle. It starts to hurt when I run more than 4 or 5 miles. So far I haven't had any pain, but I haven't run that distance yet.
My tuition assisstance got approved for my ISSA personal trainer course. I am very excited, and I can't wait to start learning!
I've also become a squad leader in the last week. This of course will take up even more of my time. I enjoy taking care of soldiers though. I enjoy helping them develop, and become better soldiers. Starting next month, we will be doing PT in small groups to accomodate their various shifts. I look forward to having workout partners again. I also get to develop the PT plans, so I will get more practice at that.

Circuit Workouts
I cannot believe I forgot how much I enjoy circuit workouts! Cardio and strength training all in one, and I can do a leg circuit, upper body circuit, abs circuit, or a full body workout like I did today.
During the April-May timeframe last year, I got down to 123 pounds doing circuit workouts. I had just gotten back from Afghanistan, so I was a bit overwhelmed by all the bad food choices so I gained 5-10 pounds back. I was still working out, but because of the food I was eating, I stayed at 130 pounds.
On December 27th, after Christmas this year, I made the decision to eat as clean and healthy as I could all the time. I guess that was my new year's resolution. I've cut out alcohol, and we eat dinner at home most nights. I started doing my circuit workouts again on the 27th as well. I weighed 132 pounds. Today I weigh 127.8 pounds! So much progress from eating clean and working out in such a small amount of time.
I've been able to drag myself out of bed every work day at 0400, so I can fit in my work out before I have to go to work. I can get up because I know that if I lay back down and go back to sleep, my day won't start out with the immense satisfaction I get from doing a tough workout.

Worked Out my Headache!
I woke up two days ago with a wretched headache. I still wanted to go the gym, but at the same time, I just wanted to take some aspirin and lay back down. My inner fitness goddess kept prodding me though, so I did take the aspirin, but I got ready for the gym instead of laying back down.
My work out that day was a full body circuit, with 30 seconds of jump rope inbetween each exercise. There were 11 exercises altogether. The first 5 minutes of the work out were excruitiating, I didn't think I was going to be able to do the jump rope, since my head hurt worse each time I bounced.
Before I knew it though, I was feeling amazing. I went from doing one cycle of the circuit to doing two cycles (30 minute work out to a 60 minute work out). I got back to my apartment and told my husband about it. He told me later I sounded a little crazy.
Who knew that the cure for my pounding head ache would have been a challenging work out?
